Costa Brava - Tamariu

Is there such a thing as a perfect day?  I think so.

After farewelling our wonderful hosts in Begur, we made the short walk to Tamariu, a small coastal town - barely more than a village. Tranquil, charming, delightful. Checked in to our family run hotel, bought take away bocadillos jambon y queso for lunch, then a tough walk up and down hundreds of stairs to explore the exquisite coves along this stretch of the coast. Some of the stone stairs in these photos date back to the fourth and fifth centuries.

After a peaceful few hours swimming and relaxing at a small cove, shared with only a dozen or so other people, we walked back to the village for a swim in Tamariu beach and fell asleep in the late afternoon sun. Aperitif by the sea in the early evening, a yummy dinner, another stroll along the beachfront (takes all of five minutes) ... it really has been a perfect day.

Tomorrow we will walk along the coast about 8 kms down  to Calella de Parafrugell, where we will stay for two nights. The Hotel Sant Roc awaits - a bit of a splurge!
