Just a few words tonight as our internet connection here in L'Estratit is very slow.
Slow seems to have been the theme today. We left Roses at 9 this morning and arrived in L'Estratit around 4 this afternoon, via two buses and a taxi. By car, it would have taken roughly 45 minutes - it's only 50kms.
Trying to coordinate local buses in Spain is challenging at the best of times - and today is Sunday. You have to applaud our optimism but really ... what were we thinking? The upside is that we got to spend some time in Figueres during our (almost) 4 hour layover. And we still made it to L'Estratit in time for almost two hours walk on the beach in the late afternoon. Not exactly the walk we'd had in mind but, as The French says ... plans are made to be changed!
Tomorrow, we plan to go to Pals. It's very close by but will still require two buses. We're optimistic it will take less than two hours door to door. Watch this space!
