Day 1 - Le Puy en Velay to Le Monastier-sur-Gazeille - 19 kms.
A great first day on the Stevenson Way. And my weather angel seems to have tracked us down. Hope she hangs around. Moderate spring temperature and sunny skies, perfect walking weather.
Just 15 minutes climbing out of Le Puy and we were already on a quiet rural path. A short distance today which was just as well as we're out of the habit of walking. Some tricky climbing this afternoon on a narrow rocky path, reminded us of the Camino Le Puy - not surprising as we are not so far away - but that path heads west while we are gong south.
Saw a few groups of walkers along the path. Our gite tonight is full, with 9 other walkers (all French) in addition to me and THE French.
We are very happy to be walking again - and planning a 30+ day tomorrow. Hopefully we're up to it. It's been a while.
